Situation
A major national distributor of Audio/Visual information with multiple distribution facilities was dissatisfied with the way national corrugators handled individual sites. Inconsistent pricing, inconsistent minimum order requirements, inconsistent vendor representation and fluctuating service levels across the distribution network adversely affected the distributor's service levels and cost structures.

Solution
Shorr assessed the distributors supply chain particularly focusing on cost structure, service levels and business processes. Shorr’s proposal centered on 3 points:

• Aggregating the packaging requirements for leverage to ensure a highly competitive consistent pricing
• Shorr analyzed the customer's usage requirements, (taking into account volume spikes driven by the seasonality of the business), and created inventory plans service level agreements
• Shorr designated one point of contact for all issues to the distributor

Results
The distributor achieved consistent pricing, service levels, and a single point of contact. Shorr's sales professional was invited to become a member of the distributors supply chain management team.

In a parallel effort, Shorr deployed its automation team and upgraded case erecting/sealing capabilities, further enhancing the distributors competitive position in the marketplace.
