$500 million dollar, construction products manufacturer, (30 manufacturing sites) wanted to consolidate, standardize, and monitor usage of all its packaging consumables.
Solution:
Shorr Packaging conducted a packaging evaluation focusing on applications and current consumption rates at their largest 10 sites.
Shorr recommended a product portfolio that reduced sku’s and allowed greater flexibility in the packaging operation. Its personnel traveled to the top 10 company sites in order to introduce new packaging materials. Shorr Packaging continues to supply the manufacturer with monthly usage and purchase reports for each site.
Results:
The sku reduction allowed the manufacturer to reduce and create greater flexibility within individual site inventories. The management reporting tools allowed headquarters to monitor remote purchasing compliance with corporate contracts.
