Shorr Packaging Attended Vincennes University Logistics Training and Education Center Dedication Ceremony and Open House; Center Utilizes Packaging Equipment and Supplies Provided by Shorr

INDIANAPOLIS – Leading packaging solutions provider Shorr Packaging recently attended a dedication ceremony and open house for the Vincennes University Logistics Training and Education Center, in celebration of VU’s mission to provide education for economic growth in Central Indiana. The event, held on January 27, 2012, included a public tour of the Plainfield, Ind., facility, during which Shorr representatives demonstrated the advanced packaging equipment that Shorr supplied to the school.

“Vincennes University is grateful to have strong corporate partnerships with reputable local businesses such as Shorr Packaging,” said James Dolan, Director of Logistics at VU. “These corporate partnerships show our current and prospective students the support and commitment shared by the Plainfield and Indianapolis logistics community. Plainfield is home to one of the top logistics industries and business parks in the nation, with over 26 million square feet of distribution and manufacturing space. We are excited to be able to offer training and education.”

The Center combines classroom settings, leading-edge technology and hands-on logistics lab space to offer a blended learning environment that simulates the high-tech warehouses, distribution centers and equipment utilized by employers in the area.

Shorr contributed a variety of packaging equipment, including case sealers, labeling equipment and Lantech stretch wrappers.

”This is just the beginning of our relationship with VU,” said Joe Searcy, Indianapolis Sales Manager at Shorr Packaging. “We will continue to support the school’s efforts to improve job growth and enhance the logistics community.”

”Our goal is to build awareness in Indianapolis’ logistics community, and we remain committed to offering innovative, value-added solutions to local distribution and manufacturing facilities,” said David Shorr, President of Shorr Packaging. “We embrace the opportunity to help prepare students for employment opportunities in the logistics industry.”
