5 Ways to Increase Packaging Productivity

Fri February 26, 2010

With today's challenging economic conditions, maximizing productivity has become essential. Here are some ways we can help bring greater efficiency to your packaging operations.

Tune up old packaging equipment. Our service technicians will clean, replace worn parts and make all necessary repairs on your shrink wrapper, case former, case sealer, or stretch wrapper. A properly tuned machine reduces downtime, repacks, and other packaging line inefficiencies.

Order spare taping heads. Taping heads require periodic maintenance and part replacement. Having extra tape heads on hand for your automatic case sealer or case former ensures uninterrupted production.

Automate the void fill process. Semi automatic and fully automatic dispensing systems are available for virtually any void fill material, including single and multi-layer papers, bubble packaging, inflatable air bags, loose fill products and Instapak® foam packaging.

Replace small shipping boxes with mailing bags. For small parts shipments, mailing bags often provide the necessary protection. Bags can be packed and sealed more quickly and ergonomically than small corrugated boxes, which can make a big difference in medium and high volume operations.

Add a case erector. If your packaging process includes the manual setup of corrugated shipping boxes, there is a case erector available to fit any budget. These machines save time, conserve floor space on the packaging line, and insure that the proper amount of tape is applied to every box.
