Sealed Air Bubble Wrap® Is Still Making News

January 25, 2010 marked the 50th birthday of Sealed Air Bubble Wrap® , the world famous packaging material that started out as an idea for textured wallpaper.

When first introduced to the industrial market in the 1960s, Bubble Wrap® quickly caught on as a replacement for cellulose wadding and packing papers for general purpose cushioning, void fill, and surface protection. Besides its clean and novel appearance, the new product offered several important benefits - superior cushioning, light weight, and strong anti-abrasion characteristics in particular.

Over the years Bubble Wrap® has evolved, which is not surprising given Sealed Air Corporation's strong and ongoing commitment to innovation.
