End-to-End Cold Chain Protection

We partner with several industry leaders that specialize in cold chain solutions to ensure our shipping container systems are designed and tested to transport your temperature-sensitive products with and without the need for additional refrigeration. Our cold chain packaging solutions are not only sustainable, but they also ensure your products are temperature-controlled throughout the entire shipping process.

Shipper coolers are a reliable and economical choice for shipping all types of perishable materials. Available in EPS (expanded polystyrene) or a variety of eco-friendly liners that are engineered to create an insulating barrier within a corrugated container. Both options offer 48-72 hours of thermal protection and are great for most food and pharmaceutical applications.

Our sustainable liner options are 100% curbside recyclable. The EPS coolers are recyclable through EPS recycling outlets.

What Consumers Want and How Cold Chain Helps Business’s Deliver

Today’s consumers are paying closer attention to how their goods are packaged – especially when it comes to temperature-sensitive products. According to our latest Sustainability Consumer Report, 54% of respondents reported deliberately choosing products with sustainable packaging in the past six months. Even more compelling, 90% said they are more likely to purchase from a brand or retailer if its packaging is eco-friendly. Additionally, it revealed the reasons as to why some consumers want to purchase sustainable products but don’t:

  • 36% Limited Availability
  • 16% Lack of Clear Labels
  • 9% Greenwashing Concerns

Smart packaging and efficient cold chain logistics help products remain viable longer, preserve product integrity, and provide consistent delivery that protects the product and your brand. A strong cold chain is more than operational – it’s the foundation to achieving your sustainability goals.

How Does EPR Impact Packaging and Sustainability

As businesses work to align with evolving consumer behaviors, another critical piece in closing the gap between what consumers want and what businesses deliver is the growing impact of EPR regulations. Shorr Packaging is constantly reviewing and staying on top of developments from the Circular Action Alliance – the Producer Responsibility Organization – to keep track of these changes and ensure we’re helping our customers in their journeys. These regulations are evolving rapidly, and the message is clear: businesses need to ensure their packaging is recyclable, reusable, compostable, minimalistic, and may include recycled content. The goal is to minimize waste and environmental impact across the board. We’re here to help you make the best decisions for your business, reduce your exposure to EPR fees, and ensure your packaging aligns with regulations.

EPR is a policy that requires producers, whether they manufacture, import, or sell products in packaging materials like plastic, corrugated, glass, or paper, to take responsibility for the waste created when their products are disposed of. It’s about creating a system where companies don’t just benefit from the product lifecycle; they also help responsibly manage – and fund – the product’s end-of-life.

As the demand for packaged goods grows, so does the waste. Several states have already passed bills with deadlines and fees to support the infrastructure needed for better recycling and responsible waste management. This means businesses are now facing new responsibilities and regulations; it is also an opportunity for innovation.

At Shorr, we’re not just about compliance. We are here as your partner in navigating these challenges – whether it’s redesigning packaging to address EPR regulations, finding sustainable alternatives, or exploring better disposal options. It’s about making a positive impact and driving change toward a circular economy. Regardless of where you are in the journey, we encourage you to consult your legal team to ensure compliance.
