  • Never Stop Improving: We continue to explore and invest in innovative materials, digital tools, and circular economic solutions that promote progress for Shorr and the customers we serve.
  • Integrity: Transparency and accountability remain essential to our approach. We have established benchmarking and reporting of our greenhouse gas emissions (GHG), with improved accuracy across Scope 1, 2, and 3.

We are proud of the progress we have made to further embed sustainability into our decisions, strategy, and culture. Shorr’s continued investments are improving our ability to track, manage, and reduce our Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions, while strengthening our role as a trusted and strategic packaging advisor.

As expectations rise and regulations continue to evolve, we work proactively with stakeholders to ensure compliance, advance responsible practices, and actively support circular economy solutions. Considering the full product lifecycle, we prioritize recycled content, encourage material recovery, and design with sustainability in mind. We are proud of our innovative approach to developing new programs and solutions.

In 2026, Sustainability remains a top priority for Shorr, including working toward:

  • A developing Decarbonization Plan, supported by the Supplier Leadership on the Climate Transition courses (Target-Setting and Abatement).
  • Comprehensive recycling programs across our 11 locations, including a centralized system to recover and recycle corrugated and film.
  • Ongoing participation in renewable energy programs.
  • Internal discussion and education regarding sustainable behavior and habits.
  • We manage our emissions-related data through a third-party platform, allowing us to analyze our emissions and track waste and water consumption. This level of tracking is critical in identifying high-impact opportunities for improvement year over year.

In 2026, we remain committed to championing responsible business practices, fostering a culture of environmental stewardship at every level of our organization, and helping our customers do the same through education and industry expertise.

Amazon Sustainability Exchange

Shorr's Path to Net-Zero as a Packaging Distributor

As part of Shorr’s sustainability strategy and to meet net-zero carbon emissions, we invested in Amazon’s Sustainability Exchange by purchasing biodiesel credits from Amazon’s new carbon credit service. These credits were issued for biodiesel produced from used cooking oil and supplied to the Northeast United States in 2024. Biodiesel is a renewable, lower-carbon alternative to petroleum diesel that can be blended with conventional fuel or used directly in compatible engines to significantly reduce carbon intensity.

As a result, we have improved data collection and tracking tools to measure and track emissions across our operations. We’ve also implemented advanced transportation routing tools and practices to reduce fuel consumption and miles driven while maximizing truck capacity and efficiency.

While there’s more work ahead, we’re encouraged by the progress we’ve made and committed to building on it. Learn more about Shorr’s path to net zero in the Amazon Sustainability Exchange case study.
